Wilma Jean Wolfe

Appalachia, Virginia Wilma Jean (O’Dell) Wolfe, of Appalachia, passed away April 22, 2013 at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home in Duffield, Virginia. Wilma was born on April 8, 1921 in Coeburn, Virginia to Burley and Vicie (Saunders) O’Dell. Wilma married Hugh Wolfe of Miller Yard, Virginia on November 7, 1939. They resided in Andover, Virginia (1939-1951) and Appalachia (1951-2010). Wilma was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She particularly enjoyed working in the home, cooking and church activities. In the 1960-1970s, she worked at the Polly Anna Beauty Shop in Appalachia. She was on Methodist faith and was a member of both the Andover Methodist Church and Appalachia Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Hugh Wolfe. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Sizemore and husband, Jack, of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; her son, Ed, and wife, Ruth, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; granddaughter Lisa (Sizemore) Kirk and husband, Richard, of Las Vegas, Nevada and one sister, Maude Horne, of Coeburn, Virginia. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25 at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Tony Nunley.
