Rusty Collier

Rusty "Buck" Collier, 60, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Rusty's biggest achievement in life was the day God saved his soul. He wanted to tell everyone about the love of Jesus Christ; he would talk for hours about the Bible. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. If you were down, and spoke to him, he would lift your spirits. Rusty was a big part of Appalachia sports. He coached and mentored many generations of youth. He loved watching college football and hockey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jackie Collier; sister, Mary Kate Collier; and brother, Shannon Collier. He is survived by his brother, John "Heart-Attack" Collier of Big Stone Gap; nephews, Tommy (Karissa) Collier, of Louisville KY; Jerry (Misty) Collier of Wise, VA; and great nephew, Jordan Collier, of Louisville, KY. His Celebration of Life service will be held June 2, 2018, at the Appalachia Pentecostal Church at 3 pm. officiated by Brother Tony Nunley, Brother Roy Smith and Brother Grayson Cothron. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm before services. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Appalachia Little League.
