July 29, 1942 - August 17, 2018
Big Stone Gap, Virginia Queen Ester Bossard transitioned to her heavenly home on August 17, 2018 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Big Stone Gap, VA. Ms. Queen, as she was fondly known by all, was born on July 29, 1942 in Dante, Virginia to Rev. E.G. and Alberta Bossard. Ms. Queen moved with her family to Pennsylvania where Rev. Bossard worked and pastored for several years and where Queen accepted Christ at age 14. Ever since that time, she has been on the battlefield for the Lord. Ms. Queen was deeply rooted and grounded in her faith and carrying on her spiritual heritage, as she loved to speak to people about God’s love and faithfulness. Ms. Queen was a talented piano player and loved dearly her ability to crochet and knit. She was always so willing to pass along her handmade gifts to others and to sing the beloved spirituals as she played the piano from her well-worn hymnal. Ms. Queen never met a stranger and was a blessing to all that made her acquaintance. Ms. Queen is preceded in death by her father, E.G. Bossard and her mother, Alberta Bossard, along with her brother, James Bossard. Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her brothers, George Bossard, Thomas Bossard, countless nieces and nephews and other family, along with a multitude of friends who will miss the earthly blessing that was Queen Ester Bossard. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church located at 610 Wyandotte Avenue, Big Stone Gap, Virginia officiated by Rev.
