Tiffany Gail Taylor

Norton, VA/New Jersey Tiffany Gail Taylor, 24, a former Norton resident, passed away on July 3, 2014 in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. A 2008 graduate of Appalachia High School, Tiffany made lifelong friends and shared treasured adventures with fellow members of the AHS Marching Band. She enjoyed high school sports and played both softball and basketball for the AHS Bulldogs. Never afraid of a challenge, Tiffany was the only female on the AHS Golf Team, and she received a scholarship to continue her golf career for Union College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2012. She worked at Hardee’s during high school and college. After graduation from college, Tiffany pursued a lifelong dream to live near the beach. She moved to the New Jersey shore and fell in love with Seaside Heights. She worked at Six Flags and for Snyder Eye Group. Tiffany used her beautiful smile and sassy sense of humor to make those around her happy, even if she was having a difficult day. She was comfortable with who she was, and her accepting nature made those around her feel special. She was loyal, supportive, and fiercely protective of her friends and family. Tiffany was a brave young woman with a generous soul who put others’ needs ahead of her own. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Katherine Ryan and George and Georgia Lou Taylor; aunt, Kita Gail Sluss; uncle, Wesley Taylor. She was born on May 9, 1990, and is survived by her parents Karen Ryan and John Taylor, brother Jonathan Taylor, her grandfather Bill Ryan and his wife Debbie, her uncle Joe Taylor and aunts Vickie Hazelwood, Mitzi Huff and Wendy Gibson, several great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank special friends Kimberly Diets and Becca Mefford for their enduring love and support during this difficult time. The family will receive friends at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 13th with funeral services beginning at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Tony Nunley. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14th at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Roy A.
