Stonega, Virginia Daisy Ethel Wells Lambert 98, of Stonega, Va was welcomed to Heaven by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 9, 2013. She was reunited with her husband, Forrest Lambert, Sr., two sons, Delbert Marshall Lambert and Ellis McClain Lambert, granddaughters Janet Humbert and Jodi Clark, parents William and Alva Wells, sisters, Mary Lewis, Belle Bowers, and Ella Edwards, and brothers Garfield Wells, Fred G. Wells, and Lawrence Wells. She was a member of the StoneEga Calvary Baptist Church for nearly 84 years where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and coordinated refreshments and meals for Bible School and other church events. She was affectionately known as the “cookie and kool-aid” lady. She also served as president of the Women’s Missionary Union and helped support its work as a correspondent for the Post newspaper for many years. She was a shining example and mother figure to many who knew and loved her. Not only was she steadfast in her Christian faith, she was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, granny, great granny, and great, great granny. She loved her friends and neighbors in the community where she has lived since she was five years old.
