Betty Chloe Sharrett (Fife) Bolling. WISE, VA – Mrs. Betty Chloe Sharrett (Fife) Bolling, 77, of Wise, went to be with our Lord on Saturday March 5, 2016 after an extended illness. Betty was the last surviving sibling in her family of 4 bothers and 3 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husbands Rush F. Fife and Ted G. Bolling. She was also preceded in death by her father, Hale D. Sharrett, Sr., mother, Cleo P. Sharrett, brothers Hale D. Sharrett, Jr, Owen A. Sharrett, Sr., Scott D. Sharrett and John H. Sharrett; sisters M. Kathleen Sharrett, Ruby S. Baker and Clarice Yvonne Collier. She was a long time resident of Appalachia and Wise and was the oldest member of the Appalachia United Methodist Church. A lifelong Democrat, Betty was an avid gardener and for many years a member of the Town & Country Garden Club and the Wise County Family Community Education – FCE (formally the Homemakers Club). Survivors include her Sister in Laws Imogene Sharrett, Appalachia and Mary (Bill) Bolling, Big Stone Gap, Artie (Clifford) Bailey, Wise, and her nieces: Yvonda Collier Schlegel, Grovetown, GA; Katharine C. Walters, Woodbridge, VA; Lisa Sharrett Mills, Mooresville, IN; Katherine Sharrett Smith, Mount Juliet, TN; Krystal Sharrett Bowman, Kingsport, TN Her nephews include: Owen A. (OA) Sharrett and Scotty D. Sharrett, Jr. Appalachia and Dennis M. Sharrett Avon IN. In addition, she had a host of loving and special great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. The family would like to recognize longtime friends: Sam Green, Eddie Mooneyhan, Marvin Barnette and Joseph (Huck) F. Hunnicutt. Also deserving of special recognition are: Dr. Daryl Pierce, Community Physicians Oncology, Norton and Dr. Williams, the Nurses and Staff of Heritage Hall, Big Stone Gap for the excellent care they provided to Betty Chloe during her illness. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, March 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Appalachia United Methodist Church Appalachia. Her funeral service will be immediately following with Sam Green officiating. Burial will be in the Glencoe Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, with the Rev. Garrett Lee of the Appalachia Christian Church officiating. Pallbearers are: Andy Sharrett III, Adam Sharrett, Scotty Sharrett, Jr., Christopher Sharrett, Shawn Stacey and Derrick Williamson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Harold E. Schlegel, Todd A. Walters, Sam Green, Eddie Mooneyhan and Marvin Barnette.
